Description
No. 8 Fore Street is a small house, probably built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from slatestone rubble, featuring granite quoins and jambstones, and has a scantle slate roof with a brick chimney located over the left gable end. The right-hand chimney serves No. 7. The house has an end entry double depth plan and stands two storeys high with a two-window front. On the ground floor, there is a window to the left of the middle and a reeded wooden doorcase with a moulded cornice and panelled reveals to the far right. The door is a 20th-century glazed design with an overlight. All windows are four-paned sashes with horns, topped with flat brick arches. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
