Description

This is a mid-18th century house, with alterations made to the front in the early to mid-19th century. It was partly used as a doctor's surgery. The house is built of stucco over a stone rubble or brick base, similar to number 15. It has an asbestos slate roof with 20th-century brick chimneys on the gable ends. The original layout was of two rooms with a rear stair turret and a later wing added.

The front of the building has two storeys and a three-window arrangement. The central doorway has a six-panel door with the top four panes glazed. The doorway is set within a wooden Tuscan doorcase with plain pilasters. A stucco plinth and platband runs along the front. The windows are four-paned wooden sash windows with horns; the window above the door is narrower.

Inside, original features include a dog leg closed string staircase, ceiling cornices in the left-hand room and passage, and two-panelled doors.
