Description
No. 18 Fore Street is a house that likely dates back to the 17th century and was refenestrated in the 19th century. It features splatterdash render over stone rubble and possibly cob, topped with an asbestos slate roof. The building has brick chimneys at the gable ends and a large stone lateral stack at the rear. It follows a two-room central stair plan and stands two storeys tall with a three-window front. The entrance is an off-centre six-panel door with a small paned overlight to the right. Above this door is a narrow window, also slightly to the right, while the other first-floor windows are positioned closer to the gable ends. The ground floor windows, which are nearer to the door, are hornless 16-paned wooden sashes, and the similar first-floor windows have 12 panes. The building features raised and painted cement surrounds and rusticated cement quoins. The interior has not been inspected.
