Description
This is a barn located immediately east of Welcombe Barton, likely built in the 18th century. It is constructed from local slate rubble, with the upper sections of the west front wall made of cob. The barn features a regular slate roof with two levels and gabled ends. Its plan is long and rectangular, divided into two sections, with two cart entrances situated on the east side, away from the house.
On the exterior, the west front facing the house has two small doorways, one to the left and one to the right of the center, each topped with slated canopies supported by wooden cantilevers. The rear east elevation, which is away from the house, includes two large cart entrances that have timber lintels. Inside, the barn has a principal rafter roof with collars that are lapped to the face of the straight principals.
