Description
This large barn, located immediately southeast of Welton Manor House, dates from the 18th century, and possibly earlier. The barn consists of two builds and is two storeys high, constructed from limestone rubble with a pantile roof featuring coped verges and saddle-stones.
On the front, there is a large segmental-headed archway positioned to the left of the centre, with a small window above it that has chamfered reveals. To the right of the centre on the first floor, there is a modern door that leads to the original entrance, which has moulded reveals. Close to the stairs, there is a pitching-eye with ashlar dressings. Additionally, there is another door with moulded reveals to the right of the first door.
At the rear, the barn features a brick pigeon loft, which has a pitching-eye on the left and a blocked keyed central opening. There is also a small window to the right of the pigeon loft. Inside, the dividing wall includes a large pitching-eye on the first floor.
