Description
The Crown Inn is an early to mid-18th century building that has been altered and extended. It is two storeys high, constructed of painted rubble with chamfered quoins. The roof is modern pantile with coped verges and moulded footstones, and there are ashlar chimneys at the gable ends.
On the first floor, there are three windows: the outer two are two-light ogee mullion types, while the center window is a Venetian style, also featuring ogee mouldings, all equipped with weathered drips above. The ground floor has a modern flat-roofed bar extension that includes a central door flanked by two pairs of sash windows dating from around 1890. At the rear, there is an extension with a range of two-light stone mullion windows, which have a cavetto section and weathered drips. Additionally, there is a gable-lit attic on the left-hand return that features another similar window.
