Description
This listing describes two ranges of farm buildings constructed in the late 19th century, located to the southwest of Kennicott Farmhouse, which was built for the Tetcott Estate in 1856. The buildings are made of stone rubble with brick dressings and feature a slate roof that is gabled at the north end and hipped at the east end. They are arranged in an L-plan, forming the west and south sides of the farmyard.
The south range likely serves as a threshing loft over a shippon, while the west range is longer and consists of two storeys. The west range has two doorways on the left with flat brick arches and two larger doorways on the right, along with a loft entrance on the left that features a sloping slate canopy supported by timber brackets, a small window, and two loading doorways on the right. The south range includes three ground floor doorways on the right with flat brick arches, one large loft entrance on the right beneath a sloping slate canopy on timber brackets, and a loft entrance on the left with a flat brick arch. These buildings are included for their group value with Kennicott Farmhouse.
