Description
Rollestone Cottages are a pair of farm cottages, likely built in the early to mid 19th century. They are whitewashed and rendered with a thatched roof that is half-hipped at the ends and features an axial stack. The cottages are arranged as a pair, probably single depth, with front doors located at the extreme left and right. The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical front with two windows, displaying regular fenestration. The front doors are from the 20th century, and the ground floor windows have 20th-century glazing within their original openings. The first floor windows, likely original, are fitted with 3-light timber casements, each containing two panes per light. Although the interior was not inspected during the survey, the cottages are noted as an unusually well-preserved example of modest 19th-century labourers' cottages and have group value with the Old Forge nearby.
