Description
Brook Cottages is a small house, likely built in the 17th or early 18th century, with significant internal alterations made in the late 20th century. The exterior features whitewashed rendered stone, with the left end rendered, and a thatched roof that is half-hipped at the left end and gabled at the right end. There are two prominent brick stacks: one projecting from the front lateral side and another at the front left corner. The building is two storeys tall and has an asymmetrical front with two windows. To the left of center, there is a modern thatched porch supported by posts. The eaves of the thatch are eyebrowed over the first-floor windows, which consist of two first-floor and three ground-floor two-light timber small pane casements. The interior has been modernized, and the roof was not inspected during the survey. Brook Cottages is a notable feature in the village.
