Description

The road bridge over the River Kenn, located south of the Ley Arms, was built in 1870, as indicated by the datestone. Constructed from red sandstone, it features a single-span design with a segmental arch that has rusticated arch rings. The keyblocks on the arches include an inscription of a cross and the date 1870 on the west side. The bridge has parapets topped with grey limestone coping. It holds group value with the Ley Arms. Additionally, the 18th-century bridge that previously occupied the site is illustrated in Swete's "Picturesque Sketches of Devon," volume 11, published in 1795, which is held by the Devon Record Office.
