Description
This is a 17th-century terrace of cottages located at Moorashes, known historically as "Morass Cottages" in 1652, built on the medieval tide marsh. The cottages have been significantly altered and mostly refenestrated in the mid-19th century. They are two storeys high, with one or two windows each, and feature Welsh slate roofs with old rendered stacks. The fronts are colour washed and rendered, set against thick masonry walls. Most windows are 19th-century sash and casement types, with some at the rear having glazing bars. The doorways are recessed, with some featuring bracketed cornices, although most have modern doors. The cottages are included for their historical and group value.
