Description

Milestone adjacent to the entry to Lower Centry, dating from the 18th century or early 19th century. It is made of stone and has a flat triangular section, with part of it submerged in the embankment. The milestone is inscribed with directions: "To Kingsbridge 1", "To Dartmouth 13", and "Totnes 11". The stone has been painted, with the inscription highlighted in black on white, but the lettering is also incised in a mix of lower case and capital letters.
