Description

This milestone, located approximately 50 metres north of Stumpypost Cross in Buckland-Tout-Saints, dates from the 18th century or early 19th century. It is made of stone and has a flat triangular section. The milestone is inscribed with directions: "To Kingsbridge 2", "To Dartm 12", and "Totnes 10". The stone has been painted, with the inscription highlighted in black on a white background, but the lettering is also incised in a mix of lower case and capital letters.
