SX 54 NE HOLBETON 9/120 Poole Farm House

Farmhouse. C17 or earlier, remodelled in early C19. Stone rubble with rendered front. Low pitched slate roof with gabled ends. Two storeys. Long five window range. C19/20 casements, ground floor in enlarged openings. Original doorway, off centre, has been blocked. C19 gabled porch to left. Very tall rendered chimney stack off centre and small chimney stack at south west gable end. Wing at rear forming L-shaped plan; stone rubble, steeply pitched corrugated asbestos sheet roof with parapetted gable end with stone coping. In gable end vertical and cross ventilation slits and two windows blocked by insertion of internal stack. This wing appears to have originally been a barn. Later outshut at rear, in the angle.
