Description
Lower Cadleigh is a farmhouse dating from around the 17th century. It is constructed of roughcast and plastered stone rubble, topped with a slate roof that has gabled ends. The building is two storeys high and features a range of four windows, which are 19th-century casements. There are two hollow-chamfered stone mullion windows, one with two lights and the other with three lights, both set in roll-moulded frames. The central doorway is accompanied by a late 19th-century glazed porch. At the rear, there is a central granite doorway with a four-centred arch, which has carved spandrels and continuous roll moulding. The east gable end has a rendered chimney stack, while the opposite end features a later chimney stack, along with another chimney over the front wall to the right of the doorway. Additionally, there is a single-storey wing at the west end, which includes a two-light hollow-chamfered stone mullion window.
