Description

Dean Mill and Miller's House is a water mill and adjoining miller's house, dating from the 17th century for the mill and the 18th century for the miller's house. Inside the entrance arch of the mill, there is a stone that is said to have the date 1602 carved on it. The mill is constructed of stone rubble that has been whitewashed at the front, while the rear is slate-hung. It has a corrugated iron roof with gabled ends. The miller's house, located to the right (southwest) of the mill, features an asbestos slate roof with half-hipped ends and is a long range.

The mill, situated to the left (northeast), is two storeys high with a loft. It has a wide round-arched entrance at the center, with boarded partition walls and a doorway set back inside. There is a first-floor door leading to the loft and 19th-century casement windows. The miller's house to the right (southwest) is also two storeys, with a three-window range, cambered stone arch openings, a plank door, and 19th-century casements, along with a rendered chimney stack on the rear wall.

To the right of the mill, there is a one-storey and loft outbuilding featuring cambered stone arch doorways with plank doors, including one wide cart entrance, and loft doors above. The outbuilding has a corrugated iron roof at its lower end. Inside the mill, some of the mill machinery still survives, although the iron wheel that was located at the rear has been dismantled.
