Description
Brampton Watermill is a watermill that includes a miller's house and an adjoining mill range, dating from the 18th century with later additions. The building is constructed of rendered rubble and features graduated slate roofs. The taller house on the left has end chimneys, while the mill range has an end finial. It is two storeys high. The front of the building has a panelled door set in a gabled porch, with a single sash window featuring glazing bars in stone surrounds on each floor on either side. There is a former segmental headed door that has been converted into a window, and a similar wagon door to the mill has a window on each floor to the left. An entrance to a former drying room is located under the outshut on the right. At the rear of the house, there is a single-storey kitchen wing, and a restored waterwheel is situated under a gabled canopy at the back of the mill, along with various windows. Internally, the mill machinery was restored to working condition in the mid to late 20th century.
