Description
Town End Farmhouse is a house dated 1736 with a later extension. It is built of coursed, squared rubble with quoins, while the extension features a snecked rubble front and coursed rubble sides, also with quoins. The graduated slate roof has stone coping and kneelers at the south end, along with stone chimneys at both ends and the middle. The house is two storeys high and originally had a symmetrical design with three bays. It features a central panelled door, with a single two-light mullioned window on either side and above, all of which are sashes in chamfered surrounds. The door has a moulded frame with a semicircular head, and the inner panel displays hearts and flowers decoration. The house is dated 1736, but only the husband's initials, T.R., remain visible, as the wife's initial has been removed.
