STOKENHAM CHILLINGTON Apple Tree Cottage

(Formerly known as range of three cottages opposite Fairfield Farm)

II Cottage. Probably C18 or earlier. Roughcast rendered stone rubble and/or cob. Thatched roof with gable ends right hand end abuts adjoining house. Truncated stack at left gable end.

Plan: Probably a two-room plan with an outshut at the rear which might be a C19 addition, the left hand room heated from a gable end stack.

Exterior: Two storeys. Asymmetrical two-window south front. Small C20 two-light casements with glazing bars and slate sills. Doorway at left of front with slate canopy on timber cantilevers and C20 glazed door. The rear outshut has been heightened in C20.

Interior: Not accessible at time of survey 1989.
