Description

Copy Lake Cottage is a cottage dating from around the early 18th century. It is located near Ashreigney. The walls are of rubble and rendered cob, and the roof is thatched, with a gable on the right and a hip on the attached outbuilding to the left. A brick stack is situated on the right gable end. The building’s plan is likely either a one- or two-room design, heated by the stack at the right end. An outbuilding attached to the left end was probably added in the later 18th century. 19th-century outshuts are located at the rear. The front of the cottage has an asymmetrical two-window arrangement, featuring 20th-century two-light casement windows with small panes. A 20th-century plank and glazed door is located at the left end, with a lower outbuilding addition set back on the left. There are two rear outshuts. The interior was inaccessible at the time of the survey.
