Description
Rose Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It features rendered cob and rubble walls and has a gable-ended thatch roof. There is a brick stack at the right-hand end and a rear lateral stack. The cottage has a two-room plan, with the larger room on the right heated by the gable end stack, while the left-hand room is heated by the rear lateral stack. There is probably a 19th-century outbuilding at the right-hand end.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a regular two-window front. The first floor has later 20th-century two-light casements without glazing bars, while the ground floor features 19th-century two-light small-paned casements. To the left of centre is a 19th-century plank door beneath a wood shingle door hood. There is also a 19th-century one-storey outbuilding addition set back from the right-hand end, which has a corrugated iron roof. The interior was inaccessible at the time of the survey.
