Description
June Cottage is a house that was once a pair of cottages, likely built in the 18th century. The structure is made of roughcast rendered stone rubble or cob and features a thatched roof with gabled ends. It has stone rubble axial and projecting right-hand end stacks topped with slate caps and yellow clay louvred pots.
The original layout is uncertain; it may have been a three-room plan house converted into two cottages and later reunited as one, or it could have been built as a pair of cottages. The right-hand cottage has a one-room plan with a gable end stack, while the left-hand cottage has a two-room plan, with the left room unheated and the right room heated by an axial stack.
The exterior is two storeys high and asymmetrical, with a three-window south front featuring small late 19th or 20th century two-light casements with glazing bars. There are two doorways: the left has a 20th century glazed door with a thatched canopy, and the right has a 20th century glazed door that is now used as a window. The rear elevation was not inspected.
