Description

A cottage, likely dating from the 18th century, with a 20th-century extension at the rear. The exterior is a mix of roughcast rendered stone rubble and cob. The roof is thatched, with a half-hipped section on the left and a gabled section on the right, featuring a projecting rendered stack with slate weathering. Originally, the cottage consisted of a single room, heated by a stack on the right gable end, with an entrance directly through the doorway on the front, slightly to the left of centre. A single-story extension was added to the rear in the 20th century, along with a conservatory on the right-hand end. The front facade has an asymmetrical arrangement with a 20th-century two-light casement window under the eaves and a small, late 19th or 20th-century fixed window with leaded panes on the ground floor. A late 19th or 20th-century glazed door is set within a wooden lattice porch with a semi-circular canopy, positioned to the left of centre. Inside, there are exposed ceiling joists, and a blocked fireplace with a cambered timber lintel. The first floor and roof space were not inspected.
