Description

Hayes is a house that was formerly two cottages, located in Little Torrington. The building features plastered cob and rubble walls with a gable-ended thatch roof. It has three brick stacks: one at each gable end and one in the middle. The layout suggests it was originally two 2-room plan cottages that have since been converted into a single house. There is a 19th-century outbuilding at the right-hand end.

The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical front that has four windows. On the ground floor, there is only one window on the left, which is a 19th-century small-paned two-light casement. There are also two gabled 19th-century porches with plank doors behind them. At the right-hand end, there is a single-storey addition with a slate roof, featuring a door on the left and a window on the right.

Inside, no early features are visible, likely due to modernisation in the early 20th century.
