Description

This is a pair of headstones located immediately to the east of the aisle of the Church of St Giles in Little Torrington. The headstones are dated 1778 for Esther Arnold and 1741 for Margery Golding. They are made of slate. The left-hand headstone for Arnold is straight-headed and features decorative edging, with a skull and crossbones carved at the top and winged angel's heads on either side. The right-hand headstone for Golding is round-headed and has an inscribed winged angel's head.
