Description
FENITON SY 09 NE 6/53 Sherwood Cottage - GV II
Cottage. Probably C18, modernised with new service outshots circa 1980. Plastered cob on stone rubble footings; stone rubble stack topped with C19 and C20 brick; thatch roof, slate to the outshots. Plan: 2-room plan cottage facing south. The larger right (east) end room-has a gable-end stack. 2 storeys with lean-to service outshots each end. Exterior: regular but not symmetrical 3-window front of C20 casements with diamond leaded pane effect. The front doorway is to right and contains a C20 French window. The roof is gable-ended to right and hipped to right. Interior: was not available for inspection at the time of this survey but some original carpentry detail is suspected.
