Description
The Lodge at Iron Gate is a 19th-century building located about 400 yards south of Sweethams. It is two storeys high and features a roughcast exterior with a thatched roof. The roof is hipped and has coupled, diagonally set chimneys at the center. There is a small scallop-tiled porch that includes lancet windows. On either side of the porch, there are small casement windows with heavy moulded Tudor dripmoulds. The east side of the lodge has a round window, while the west side has two casements, also with similar dripmoulds. The property is marked by stone monolithic gate pillars and short lengths of low walling, although the iron gate itself is missing.
