Description
Farthings is a 17th-century, two-storey house constructed of cob with a hipped thatch roof and a massive central chimney. To the right of the entrance, part of the house is slightly jettied. The building features a wide door opening, two three-light casements, and one very small window. An extension to the north, originally a barn, has been adapted as a domestic wing. Inside, there is a timber-framed crosswall, chamfered beams, hewn roof trusses, large fireplaces with stop-chamfered beams, and a curved wall leading to a winding stair. Farthings is part of a group that includes Gosford House, Gosford Pines, and Gosford Farmhouse.
