Description
31 and 31A Boutport Street is a mid-19th century house with shops on the ground floor, which may be secondary. The building has mass wall construction and is cement-rendered, topped with a slate roof that is gabled at both ends. It features stacks with brick shafts, corbelled cornices, and some old pots. The plan is double-depth and two rooms wide, with three storeys and a symmetrical two-window range. The ground floor has a continuous timber cornice above two 20th-century shop fronts, with a glazed door located between the shops to the right of centre. The first floor contains two 6 over 9-pane hornless sashes, with a blind recess in the centre. The second floor has two 12-pane hornless sashes. The interior has not been inspected but may retain features of interest.
