Description
11 and 11A Raymond Street is a mid-19th century building that originally comprised two houses and a shop, but is now used as one house, one shop, and an office. It is constructed of gault brick and has a slate roof, situated on a corner site with two storeys. The house part, No. 11, is distinct from the shop and is located to the right. It features two bays with a central four-panelled door beneath a fanlight that does not have glazing bars. There are two 2/2 unhorned sash windows on either side of the door, all set under gauged skewback arches, with two similar windows on the first floor. The shop occupies the corner and has a curved 19th-century double display window with central two-leaf entrance doors made of plate glass. Above the shop window, there is one 2/2 sash window. To the left, there is a door and a 6/6 sash window that now lead into the office, with another 6/6 sash window above, all featuring gauged skewback arches. The building has a gabled roof with a ridge stack at the junction and an internal gable-end stack to the south serving the house (No. 11). The interior contains little of interest.
