Description
No. 47 Bear Street is a house with a shop that dates from the early 19th century. It features solid rendered walls and a slated roof. The building has three storeys with a garret and is topped by two red brick chimneys on the right side wall, which may be shared with No. 48, and another chimney on the left side wall. The front has a two-window range and a late 20th-century shop front. The upper storeys are accentuated by giant flanking pilasters that rise to a boxed eaves cornice. The windows are box-framed sashes with horns, with 8 over 12 panes on the second storey and 8 over 8 panes on the third storey. There is a dormer window with small panes, flanked by panelled pilasters and topped with a hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected.
