Description
No. 4 High Street is a house with a shop, dating from the early 19th century. It has solid rendered walls, and the roof is not visible from the street. The building stands three storeys tall and features a two-window range. The shop front, which is from the late 20th century, incorporates late 19th or early 20th century fluted end-pilasters at either end. Above these pilasters are tall fluted consoles topped with gabled blocks. To the left of the shop front is a six-panelled house door, situated inside the pilaster. The upper-storey windows are fitted with barred sashes, with six over nine panes on the second storey and six over six panes on the third storey. The building is accentuated by giant flanking pilasters that rise to a prominent moulded eaves cornice, which breaks forward above them. The interior has not been inspected.
