Description
Brewers Cottage is a tenement farmhouse that has been converted into a private dwelling. It likely dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. The building features painted rendered stone rubble and cob construction, topped with a thatched roof that has gable ends. There is a brick shaft for the stone rubble stack on the right end, which includes a slated bread oven projection, and a front lateral stack with a brick shaft near the left gable end.
The layout consists of a single room on each side of the entrance passage, which contains the staircase. The larger room on the left is heated by the front lateral stack. The cottage is two storeys high and has a three-window range. The windows are early 20th-century, all three-light casements with two panes per light. The entrance features a four-panelled door, with the upper two panels being glazed. The interior has not been inspected.
