Description

This is a group of three headstones located immediately east of the chancel of the Church of St James in Kings Nympton. They date from the early to mid 19th century and are made of slate. One headstone is straight-headed and was created by Carder Watts of Chittlehampton, commemorating Giles and Elizabeth Skinner, who died in 1835 and 1836. The other two headstones have shaped heads; one features a verse around the top and honors Elizabeth and William Hulland, who died in 1813 and 1821, while the other, made by Knight, is inscribed to Henry Venn and his wife, who died in 1863 and 1862.
