Description

EAST ANSTEY SS 82 SE 4/4 Muse Hill - - II Tenement farmhouse, at one time probably in 2 occupations. Probably early C18. Rendered stone rubble and cob. Slate roof with gable ends. Axial brick stack and stack at rignt gable end. Plan: 3 rooms in line, with direct entry into the 2 larger rooms at each end. The right end room was a kitchen with staircase in rear left-hand corner. Solid wall partition between this and smaller room to left. Large room at left end may originally have been occupied as a separate cottage, a staircase has been removed in C20 and possibly an internal partition. Exterior: 2 storeys. 3-window range. Early C20 fenestration. 2-light and 3-light casements, 2 panes per light. Plank door towards left end and stone rubble porch with gabled slate roof, wall benches and plank inner door. Interior: Brief interior inspection suggested few alterations have taken place since C19. Right end room has chamfered cross beam and chamfered fireplace lintel on whicn JB 1817 is carved.
