The cottage has an old stone chimney at the rear and a left-hand stack near the end. It is two storeys tall and has three windows, with the left-hand bay slightly projecting. The central entrance is plain and has a 6-panel door. To the left of the entrance is a large 6-pane window, and to the right is a 12-pane hornless sash window. On the first floor above the entrance, there is a small window with patterned glazing made up of vertical and horizontal bars, flanked by a 9-pane window to the left and a 9-pane sash window to the right. The interior has not been inspected. Nos. 2-4 Quayfield Road form a group.
