Description

No. 6 St Andrews Road is a cottage in a terrace, dating from the 17th century on the site of an earlier dwelling. It was altered in the mid-19th century. The building is rendered over rubble with a pantiled roof and a brick stack on the right. It has a single cell plan with an extension at the rear and stands one and a half storeys high, featuring two bays. The windows are two-light casements with gabled tops, and there is a three-light casement on the ground floor to the right of the entrance, which includes a gauze-covered opening to a cupboard beside the chimney. The entrance has a plank door. The interior has not been viewed but is likely similar to the adjoining cottages, No. 8 and No. 7. The cottage is primarily listed for its group value with these neighboring buildings.
