Description
Stoke House is an 18th-century house with an early 19th-century addition located on the north side of High Street in Stogursey. The building features roughcast over random rubble and has a double Roman tiled roof, with a lower slate roofed addition on the left. Both roofs have coped verges and brick stacks at the gable ends. The house is arranged in a double pile with a carriageway entrance infill to the left. It is two storeys high and has a layout of one main bay followed by three additional bays. The main block includes 12-pane sash windows and a central arched window, situated above a doorcase with an open pediment and fluted pilasters. The doorcase also features a leaded fanlight and a six-panel door. To the left, there is a depressed arch carriageway entrance with a keystone and imposts supported by pilasters, leading to double doors that have decorative studding. A 20th-century window is located above the carriageway entrance, which has been converted into a garage. The interior has not been viewed.
