Description

The Ship and Pilot Inn is a terraced public house, likely originating as three houses, probably dating from the 18th century with subsequent alterations. The building is rendered with a slate roof featuring dormers. It extends over three storeys, includes an attic, and has cellars. There are six windows in total. The ground floor has three small-pane windows and two doorways with overlights. A moulded string course runs along the first floor level. The first floor features sash windows; two on the left have exposed frames, one hornless and the other with glazing bars, while the remaining two are two-pane horned. The second floor has two-light casement windows. The interior was not inspected. The building forms a group with the Royal Britannia Hotel (Nos 3 & 4 and Nos 8-12) and Nos 1 & 2 The Strand.
