Description
No. 8 Broad Street is an end-of-terrace house with a later shop, dating from the 18th century and featuring later alterations. The building is constructed of rendered stone rubble and has a slate roof that is hipped at the corner, along with dormers. It has facades facing both Broad Street and Hierns Lane, and consists of three storeys plus an attic.
On Broad Street, there is one window, while the Hierns Lane side has two windows. The Broad Street facade includes an altered 19th-century shopfront with pilasters. The first floor features a hornless sash window, and the second floor has a casement window. The eaves are adorned with a coved cornice. The Hierns Lane facade has a 12-pane hornless sash window on the ground floor, a similar sash window on the first floor with a casement to the right, and a sliding casement along with a casement to the right on the second floor. The interior has not been inspected.
