Description

The George and Dragon Public House is a public house located on Fore Street in Ilfracombe. It is probably a 17th century structure that has undergone some alterations. The building features a plastered front and a slated roof with a dormer. It has two storeys, an attic, and cellars, with three windows. Notably, it retains a good 17th century panelled door set in a stop-moulded oak frame, with the opening having chamfered reveals. The front has been altered, now featuring 4-light casements with glazing bars on both the ground and first floors. The interior has not been inspected but appears to have been modified. All the listed buildings on Fore Street are part of a group.
