Description
Nos. 60 and 61 Fore Street are a pair of end-of-terrace houses located in Ilfracombe, likely built in the late 17th century or early 18th century, with some alterations. No. 60 features colour-washed stucco and a synthetic slate roof, which includes a box dormer. It shares a large brick slab chimney stack with No. 61, which has slate weathering. This house has two storeys and two windows, with a square-headed entrance and recessed sash windows.
No. 61 is finished in stucco with a concrete tiled roof that is hipped on the return and includes a dormer. It has two storeys with one window facing Fore Street, while the return on Mill Head slopes to three storeys and has four windows, one of which is blind. There are remnants of a 19th-century corner shopfront with an angled entrance. The return side has a plain entrance to No. 61, with a two-pane sash window below and three 12-pane hornless sashes on the first floor. The interiors have not been inspected. All the listed buildings in Fore Street form a group.
