54, Fore Street

No. 54 Fore Street is a terraced house that has been converted into a restaurant. It dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century and features a stucco exterior with a channelled ground floor. The roof is made of pantiles and has box dormers on the left-hand gable. The building has two storeys and an attic, with three windows, one of which is blind. The right-hand bay is slightly recessed and has a ground floor entrance at the rear. The ground floor underwent alterations in the 20th century, now featuring a central glazed door flanked by two plate glass windows, with the right-hand window still showing a fascia board and box cornice from a 19th-century shopfront. The first floor has slightly recessed four-pane hornless sash windows with keystones and exposed boxing, with the central window being blind. The interior has not been inspected. All the listed buildings on Fore Street are part of a group.
