Description
No. 52 High Street is a house that has been converted into a restaurant. It dates from the early 19th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The building is finished in stucco with painted stone dressings and features a pantile roof. It stands three storeys high and has three bays.
The ground floor has a shop front from the 19th and 20th centuries, which includes moulded pilasters on either side of the central entrance and plate-glass windows on both sides. To the far left, there is a raised and fielded six-panel door with a traceried overlight, also flanked by similar pilasters, which provides a separate entrance to the upper storeys.
On the first floor, there is a sill band that supports three 12-pane sash windows, each set in timber architraves and beneath incised flat arches. The second floor features three similar windows with projecting sills. The building has a plain eaves band and brick stacks at the ends.
