Description
This is a range of four farm buildings dating from the early 19th century, located approximately 20 metres south of Westcott Barton. The buildings have graduated slate roofs and include a stable at the lower end and a structure adjoining a mill wheel at the upper end. They are arranged at right angles to the main range, forming a loose three-sided courtyard plan. The buildings are constructed of rubble stone.
The stable features a hipped slate roof and has three casement windows to the right of a wooden door. The building at the lower end has two ventilation slits to the left of its wooden door. To the left, there is a building with a loft above two wooden doors, which has a reused timber lintel. It also has a small square window to the left.
At the upper end, two buildings have been combined to form a continuous seven-bay barn, which is partially floored at the new upper end. This barn has a raised single door with a slate canopy to the right of a small lean-to and to the left of a large double threshing door, also with a slate canopy. An overshot wheel is located at the upper gable end, with machinery present both in the barn and in the building extending at a right angle. This latter building has a plank doorway with a square loft door above, situated between a window with a flat dressed stone arch on the right and a doorway on the left.
