Description
This headstone, located about 7 metres southeast of the chancel of the Church of St Michael and All Angels, is probably from the late 18th century. It is made of stone and features a semi-circular carved panel at the top, with small rounded protrusions on either side. A well-crafted trumpeting angel is carved in relief above an inscription that commemorates Grace (Philips), although part of the surname is illegible. While some of the lettering of the inscription and verse has faded, the quality of both the lettering and the carving remains high.
