Description
A group of four headstones is located approximately 3 to 7 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St. Michael and All Angels. The headstones date from 1691, 1698, 1704, and the late 18th century, and are made of marlstone. The headstone closest to the chancel is in Baroque style, featuring a rectangular panel with a bolection frame, flanked by drops of fruit and flowers beneath an egg-and-dart cornice; the inscription is largely illegible but is dated 1691. Another headstone, also near the chancel, has a rectangular panel framed by drapery and commemorates Nicholas Ros, who died in 1704. The headstone furthest from the chancel has an oval cartouche surrounded by scrolls, commemorating Catherine, the wife of Nicholas Ros, who died in 1698. The late 18th-century headstone does not possess special architectural interest.
