Description

Number 7 and the attached outbuilding, located on Great Ten New Road, is a house and outbuilding that now serves partly as an estate office. It dates from the 17th century, with probable alterations made in the early 19th century, and further changes in the 20th century. The building is constructed of limestone rubble with marlstone-ashlar dressings and features a Stonesfield-slate roof, complemented by limestone-ashlar and rendered brick gable stacks.

The structure is L-shaped and consists of two storeys plus attics. The main range includes a central stair projection with a hipped roof, which has narrow leaded windows extending to the attic. Flanking this projection on the ground floor are three-light stone-mullioned windows with labels. On the first floor, there is a two-light mullion window on the left, while the right bay has been raised but features a lower ridge. The wing that projects from the left has a flat-arched doorway and a three-light mullioned window facing right, along with two two-light mullioned windows in the front gable wall. Both ranges are topped with gable parapets and large projecting chimneys.

To the left of the projecting range, there is a lean-to addition that includes a four-light leaded casement and connects to a long outbuilding range that extends to the left under a corrugated-iron roof. This outbuilding has pointed slits and a two-light stone-mullioned window with wooden lattices. The interiors have not been inspected.
