Description
There are two headstones located in the graveyard of the Church of St Michael and All Angels, positioned at the south-east corner of the chancel. The headstones date from 1728 and 1703 and are made of slate.
The first headstone is a small rectangular stone featuring a round-faced winged angel. It has the inscription "BE YE READY" in the top corners and commemorates Francis, the son of Nicolas Boot and Ellin, who died on April 6th, 1728, at the age of 2 years.
The second headstone is a small tapering stone with an angled top and edge moulding. It bears the inscription: "Here is buried ye Body of John Chamberling he died January the 25th 1703 And in the 48th year ...?"
