SS91SE WARNICOMBE 848-1/7/339 Warnicombe House

House. Early/mid C19. Incised stucco; dry slate hipped roofs with moulded eaves cornice and cast-iron ogee gutters; rendered axial stacks with various old clay pots; bellcote central to service wing. Complex plan with L-shaped reception fronts plus service wing at right angles to rear centre of garden front and with 2 short wings right of the service wing. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 2-window-range entrance front. Original 12-pane hornless sashes. Central doorway with moulded pedimented Tuscan porch with square columns and pair of panelled and glazed doors; similar inner doors within panelled reveals. 4-bay right-hand return has original sashes including 2-storey canted bay windows to 2nd and 4th bays from the left, with central glazed door to centre of each bay window; small open-fronted summer house on the right. Rear has original windows and gable-ended wings. INTERIOR: not inspected except to note original window shutters, moulded architraves and panelled doors, moulded plaster ceiling cornices, and open-well staircase with open string and turned balusters, the handrail wreathed over the newel.
